If you need more than just the basics, move up to a full function accounting program. Employees would require another module or moving up to Quickbooks Pro.
What it is is a simplified estimate producing, invoicing, check collecting, expense listing, and check register program. The free version of the program for 2010 provides the same service but does not allow more than 20 costumers to be listed.
Quickbooks Simple Start 2008 is an excellent product for what it is. A good program if you work by yourself.
The paid versions allow for up to 10,000 customers. The program allows for minimal customizing of the forms but should be enough for most small businesses.
If there is a downside, it's that the program takes up a lot of hard drive space. For a small to mid-size business that does not need all the bells and whistles, it provides a good value.
its free at the quickbooks site.DO NOT PURCHASE.Also, it doesnt do much and when you need to do something, it prompts you to purchase WASTE
The title should say it all.instead it is hard to follow and tedious.nothing easy about it.has features but hard to work.
Could not get this product to override the old Quickbooks program we had in past years. The help life as a waste of time. I ended up using our old program for 2008 books again.
Would give this software a 5 if it was not required that you call their customer service to get an activation code so that you can run the software. Their c/s department is very pushy when you call and insists that you need Quick Books Pro which is a lot more expensive. Getting the activation code from them is like having a tooth pulled - a REAL PAIN. Great software though and very easy to use.
